Homemade Breakfast Sausage

- 3 pounds of ground porkÂ
- 2 teaspoons dry, ground sage
- 1 small onion, minced very finely
- 1 tablespoon sea saltÂ
- 1 teaspoon dry, ground mustard
- 3/4 t. black pepper
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup, honey  or omitÂ
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl or mixer. To enhance the flavor, you can stick it in the fridge for a couple hours or over night to help the flavors develop, or, use it right away.
Ways to Use Breakfast Sausage
1. Cook it up as you would ground beef, add it into soups, breakfast burritos, or casseroles.
2. Shape your breakfast sausage into individual patties or logs freeze for quick meals on those busy days.
