Whipped Tallow

Ingredients
- 1 cup rendered beef tallow
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 oz beeswax (pastilles or grated)
- 20–30 drops essential oil (optional)
- In a double boiler, gently melt the tallow and beeswax until fully liquid.
- Remove from heat and stir in the olive oil.
- Let the mixture cool until it starts to thicken but is not fully solid (slightly cloudy and soft).
- Add essential oils, if using.
- Whip with a hand mixer or stand mixer for 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Spoon into clean jars and allow to fully set.
- For a softer balm, slightly reduce beeswax.
- For a firmer balm (great for warmer climates), add a bit more beeswax.
- Shelf stable when stored in a cool, dry place.
